FALL TOY PREVIEW 2013 An Essential First Stop With brand identity becoming ever-more important in the marketplace, retailers are eager for opportunities to negotiate customized products and exclusive lines that distinguish and reinforce their corporate persona. For the more than $21 billion toy industry in the United States, the desire for unique products that will attract young consumers and their families is especially strong. The Toy Industry Association’s Fall Toy Preview, a go-to-market event for mass-market retailers and toy vendors, offers such an opportunity. The by-appointment-only event brings together toy buyers, wholesale distributors, manufacturers and suppliers from across the globe to broker in-person business deals months in advance of in-store delivery. This long-lead time- 10 July/August 2013 frame not only gives retailers a first look at the hottest new toys and games for the following year’s holiday shopping season, but also allows buyers and sellers to arrange exclusive rights or collaborate on tailored product lines and packaging. Fall Toy Preview 2013, held Oct. 1-3 at the Dallas Market Center in Dallas, is viewed by many as an essential first stop on the annual toy-buying circuit. Nearly all of the nation’s top toy sellers send buying delegations to Fall Toy Preview every year. As of early July, more than 600 attendees were already registered – up by 50 percent over the same period last year.
