The smart combination of leading wine and spirits producers with big-name culinary personalities makes the South Beach and New York City Wine & Food Festivals major events.
Lee Brian Schrager certainly knows how to throw a party. The vice president of corporate communications and national events for Southern Wine & Spirits of America Inc. is the visionary behind two nationally known, charity-supporting food and wine events that have become some of the most well-attended and visible parties in the country.
“The consumer wants to sample the newest wine and food and products, and they want to be around the rock star chefs of today,” Schrager says. “Everything is driven by the big names of the culinary personalities.” It isn’t just the large crowds that recognize the success Schrager and his events have had. Luminous culinary personalities also appreciate the work Schrager has put in to create world-class events. “Over the past decade, I have witnessed Lee build the South Beach Food and Wine Festival [and NYC outpost] into an event so large in scope it deserves its own zip code,” Rachael Ray says. “He did
