FASHION WEEK Diet Pepsi Inspires Christian Cota Creations Diet Pepsi has partnered with designer Christian Cota to create a capsule collection for fall inspired by the brand’s imagery through the decades. The Diet Pepsi x Christian Cota capsule collection will make its retail debut this fall . The brand collaboration was developed by The Joester Loria Group, PepsiCo’s exclusive North American licensing agency. “We were thrilled that Diet Pepsi tapped our agency to develop and execute this exciting fashion initiative,” says Joanne Loria, executive vice president of The Joester Loria Group. “Christian has done an amazing job capturing the iconic power of the brand, and aligning with Diet Pepsi’s fashion platform.” The designs in the Diet Pepsi x Christian Cota capsule collection reflect Cota’s refreshing take on the brand’s vintage graphics and how he translates them into prints, while the collection’s iconic silhouettes capture styles inspired from the 1960s to modern day. These silhouettes include shift dresses, off-the-shoulder jersey sweaters and skinny cuffed pants. Silk fabrics in the collection range from retro plaids to multi-colored prints, giving the collection an iconic sentiment while reflecting the brand personality of Diet Pepsi. “I was so inspired by the vintage Diet Pepsi imagery that I have applied to the prints within the capsule collection,” says Christian Cota. “As a longtime fan of Diet Pepsi, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such an iconic brand.” O Hasbro Mashes Up Licensing and Fashion Music and fashion have a lot in common. Both are vivid, memorable freeze frames of people expressing themselves — creating identities, capturing how they feel, what makes them tick or indicating their life direction. They inspire. Nothing could be more true in terms of what Hasbro is doing in fashion licensing as it evolves the company’s brands into global lifestyle statements. By breaking new ground in the growing sector with out-of-the-box licensing alliances – mash-ups – the company is turning heads and churning excitement among a very diverse demographic. Notable names in the mix include Mr. Monopoly, Jay-Z, Optimus Prime, Kevin Durant, Pinkie Pie and Roadblock played by Dwayne Johnson in the upcoming Paramount Pictures feature film G.I. Joe Retaliation. It is an eclectic list of VIPs – opposites in many ways – but that’s what makes the combinations so trendy and hip. One-of-a-kind Monopoly super-glam t-shirts designed by artist Aaron Rose have redefined how consumers think about and engage with the world’s bestselling game brand. The real estate mogul is quickly becoming a fashion mogul, as well. O Bart Breaks Out at Fashion Week This year’s Fashion Week had a different kind of star from what the fashion set is used to – Bart Simpson – thanks to a collaboration between Fox Consumer Products and world-renowned fashion designer Jeremy Scott. Scott wrapped up an amazingly successful fashion show at MILK Studios in Manhattan with a handful of new looks in his limited-edition collection of Bart Simpson fashions. It’s fair to say Bart Simpson has never been seen like this before. This event is obviously a major highlight during a milestone year for The Simpsons as they celebrate their landmark 500th episode.
